Wessanen UK, the pioneering healthy food company, is set to launch a vegan-friendly version of Mrs Crimble’s best-selling Choc Macaroons.
Launching in Tesco stores in November, Mrs Crimble’s Vegan Choc Macaroons (RRP £1.79 / 195g) are made to a specific vegan recipe as well as being gluten free, making them suitable for those following a vegan lifestyle.
An obvious next step for the brand with its focus on free-from indulgence, the new recipe has been created to deliver the same great taste and texture that Mrs Crimble’s is known for. It bears the same golden-brown colour and moist cake texture of the original macaroon.
Mrs Crimble’s Vegan Choc Macaroons contain 150 calories per cake and are packaged in a 6-portion pack, which has been given a green, leafy design to signal it’s vegan-friendly credentials.
We’re incredibly proud to have taken the Mrs Crimble’s brand on to the next stage of free-from indulgence by creating a vegan-friendly version that tastes as good as our original recipe. The challenge was to remove the egg ingredients while maintaining the same delicious taste and wonderful texture. Without the eggs the macaroon still holds together with all the other ingredients, resulting in a deliciously, moist and moreish treat for our vegan and gluten-free consumers.
