Four new curries added to Charlie Bigham’s range

Charlie Bigham’s, creator of delicious food for foodies, has extended its curry range with new dishes from India and South East Asia.

Available now in Waitrose, the four new dishes are a ready-to-cook vegetarian Paneer Tikka Masala and Thai Green Chicken Curry, served with rice, plus two meal kits for Pan Fry Satay Chicken Curry and Pan Fry Keralan Chicken Curry (RRP £7.50 - £7.75 for a two-person serving).

Made with carefully-selected ingredients, each recipe conjures up the vibrant colours and aromas of a spice market – from baskets ladened with fresh coriander, golden turmeric, lemongrass, chillies, cumin seeds and curry leaves.

Based on Charlie Bigham’s bestselling Chicken Tikka Masala, the new Paneer Tikka Masala is prepared with a traditional, mild Indian cheese, which complements the richness of spice mixes. For this dish, cubes of paneer are marinated in a spicy and creamy masala sauce topped with turmeric roasted potato and fresh red chilli.

The new Pan Fry Satay Chicken Curry and Pan Fry Keralan Chicken Curry are convenient meal kits – from pan to plate in just 10 minutes. With the spice blending and ingredient prep already done, simply pair the marinated chicken breast and vegetables with the kit’s fresh sauce for a truly fuss-free supper.

Every Charlie Bigham’s dish is lovingly made, following the  same attention to detail that you would if you were to  scratch cook them yourself  at home. As well as an  extensive range of savoury dishes, inspired by UK favourites and world flavours, the brand recently launched its first range of puddings, aptly-named Proper Puds. All five recipes, including Sticky Toffee Pudding and Cherry Bakewell Pudding, are available from Waitrose and Ocado.

Charlie Bigham, company founder, says:

Curry may be one of the nation’s best-loved dishes, but some people still consider it a challenge to prepare themselves – whether that’s due to limited time or a lack of confidence with spices and herbs. With these four new dishes, we’ve set out to create truly delicious-tasting world cuisine, combining the ingredients and cooking methods found in traditional Indian and South East Asian recipes, with Bigham’s commitment to ensuring our food tastes the very best it can.

Notes to Editors:

Inspired by his travels and love of cooking, Charlie Bigham set up shop back in 1996 with the sole aim of creating really delicious dishes for foodies – putting in all the care and attention that you would if you were to cook them yourself.  Using top quality ingredients, his goal was to help people steal back some quality time by doing all the dinner prep for them. Charlie Bigham’s selection of dishes now has over 60 delicious meals, made and sold exclusively in the UK, including bestsellers such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Lasagne and Fish Pie.

So far in 2020, Charlie Bigham’s has launched its first range of sweet ready-to-bake dishes – Proper Puds – and been named by YouGov as the UK food and drink brand most recommended by its customers. Since the start of the  Covid-19 pandemic, the brand has donated more than 2,500 free dishes to NHS and other key workers and community groups, and has delivered 3,000 ‘care parcel’ lasagne dishes to residents around its two kitchens in London and Somerset.
