Patrick Cairns, CEO of Wessanen UK, one of the largest organic packaged food specialists in the UK, commented: "Our organic products are flying off the shelves at the moment! We work hard to make healthy, natural food more interesting and accessible, and our message certainly seems to be chiming with people. Natural, healthy food is definitely rising up their agendas.”

In an expanding organic market, Wessanen UK brands now lead their organic segments[2]. Clipper Teas, Wessanen’s natural and Fairtrade tea brand, has 41% market share of the organic tea segment. Wessanen’s Kallo brand has 90% market share of the organic rice cake segment and 50% of the organic stocks & gravies segment, meanwhile Wessanen’s Whole Earth brand has 79% market share of the organic peanut butter segment.

Wessanen UK and Organic September

Building on strong organic growth across its portfolio of natural and organic food brands, Wessanen UK will launch a number of new organic products this Autumn. These include 100% Peanuts organic peanut butters from Whole Earth, organic gravy sachets from Kallo and organic tea infusions from Clipper.

Wessanen UK is also actively supporting the Soil Association’s ‘Organic September’ campaign, by supplying prize bundles of organic Wessanen products for Facebook prizes, staging Organic Thursdays throughout September for all employees at its Camberley and Beaminster sites, and organising its own 4th Annual Organic Day.

Wessanen Organic Expertise Centre

Wessanen is obsessive about organic and is one of the few food companies in the world to have its own Organic Expertise Centre (OEC), which was set up to support Wessanen’s mission: ‘Healthier Food, Healthier People, Healthier Planet’. The OEC centrally aligns organic expertise and quality, resulting in a more integrated approach and an exchange of best practices in relation to the quality of ingredients, products and processes. It also focuses on engaging Wessanen’s own people and helps them to increase their knowledge on organic and vegetarian food.
